Well what can i say,
IT PASSED,
, Couldnt believe it, im absolutely the happiest chap in the world.
Spent 2 hours before going over everything, had side light failure 2 seconds before leaving. Put the engine bolts in and then cleaned all the grinding dust off the cargo floor.etc.
Headed off on my own down the main road, must admit i was scared whitless, first time it had hit 4th gear since 63. It behaved itself perfectly on the way there, was maxed out (thats me maxed out) at i think 40 km/h on the way there.
Mot guy loved it, he thought i was there to see what else needed doing, i explained i was there because i hoped it would pass and after he got it in the air i think all became clear. Great bloke, everyone else in the garage came for a look too , and they took a few pics. Showed him the pic of it in the swedish woods too. Van had no problems at all and amazingly all the electrics still worked.
Opened her up a bit on the way back and clocked 60km/h.
Im going to have a beer to celebrate i think, got home and the vw birth cert had arrived today to, thanks Vw milton Keynes for printing the chassis number on a peice of A4 with the day it was made, for £30. What a bargain - not.
Anyway, plates next then Camberg
